“A” Day

Today’s lunch:  Chicken nuggets, French fries, raw veggie sticks, diced pears & assorted fresh fruit.

 

Attention IHS:  If anyone needs a covid test kit or face mask, please stop by the Main Office and pick them up.

 

If you haven’t picked up your School ID, please stop in the Main Office to pick it up. And speaking of School ID cards, please be prepared to show your School ID upon entering the building & at any time a staff member requests to see it.  Remember, Student ID’s are accepted for free admission to all home football games. NOTE:  Admission without your student ID will be $2.00.

 

Mosaic Club will be having its first meeting this Wednesday at 3:05 in the LGIC (Room #2079).  This club emphasizes building empathy, resiliency and community. We celebrate diversity and work to educate against stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination.  All are welcome!!!  If you have questions, please see Ms. Maldonado or Ms. Zahariev in the Counseling Center. 

 

Green Team will be picking up empty deposit bottles & cans after school TOMORROW.  If you would like us to stop by your classroom, please put them out for us to pick up. If you need a recycle box for your empties, we will be happy to make you one. Thank you for all of your support.

 

Art Club’s first meeting will be on October 13th in Ms. Jacobs room (#1150) from 3:10 pm-4:10 pm. Please come with ideas for what YOU want to do in YOUR ART CLUB this year!

 

Attention IHS:  Do you want to be part of theater productions here at IHS, but don’t want to be on the stage? Then think about joining stage crew! We work behind the scenes building, painting and putting together all the little things that make our shows great! Come to our first meeting on Wednesday, October 5th from 6:30-8:30pm in the PAC. Games Club is looking for new members! We meet on Fridays at 3:00 until 4:15 in Room 2000.  We play board games, card games and roleplaying games based on member interest.

JV & Varsity Field Hockey are dedicating their game tonight to raising awareness for Childhood Cancer.  September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and all donations and money raised at the concession stand this Wednesday will be donated to the local non-profit The Willie Bee Foundation who helps families with children undergoing cancer treatment.  Come out and wear your Gold to support Childhood Cancer Awareness.  JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:30.

Students at least 16 yrs. old interested in résumé building while volunteering once a week in a hospital setting should apply on-line or stop in today to learn how to apply.

Students at least 16 yrs. old interested in résumé building while volunteering once a week in a hospital setting should apply on-line or stop in today to learn how to apply.

The ACE Mentor Program of Rochester is accepting applications only until this Thursday, September 22. This incredible program is open to students interested in careers related to architecture, construction and engineering. You can apply on-line or stop in for application details.

If you are a student looking to be part of a political campaign - two local senators are looking for campaign interns to call voters and help with get-out-to-vote efforts, canvass across local neighborhoods, assist with campaign events and take on leadership roles to organize volunteers. Student Council is excited to share the details of Homecoming Week, starting Monday with Pajama Day. We are looking forward to hosting our traditional events and what we know will be a spirited week as all four grades compete for the Golden Eagle!

 

Cafeteria news! The free meals for all program has ended.  Please have your family fill out paperwork to see if you qualify for free meals. The deadline to register for this is Sept. 30. Breakfast is being served in the hot lunch line in the Large Cafeteria. Hours are 7:30 am -9:30 am. This is temporary and may change at the end of the month. Also, did you know that there are two serving rooms in each cafeteria? The hot lunch line and deli line are in the Large Cafe.  Pizza and snacks are in the Small Cafe. You may go to any serving room during lunch.

“B” Day

 

Today’s lunch: Regular or spicy chicken patty sandwich, lazed carrots, raw veggie sticks, & fresh fruit.

 

If you need a school planner, they will be available in the Library, Counseling Center and the Main Office.

 

Interested in participating in the fall play? This year's drama is Once Upon a Teen and auditions are being held on September 13 at 3:15 pm in the Performing Arts Center. Audition forms and all other information are posted in Schoology under Library and Information Skills. Just look for the folder for the Fall Drama. We are looking for both on stage and behind the scenes participants 🙂 See you then!

 

Seniors and Juniors with Blue and Gold key should report to the library, the PAC periods 2-9, or be with a teacher during their scheduled independent study. Only seniors with Gold Key should be in The Commons during their scheduled Independent Study or lunch.

 

Attention IHS: If anyone needs a covid test kit, please stop by the Main Office and pick one up from our never-ending supply.
