Hey IHS: Did you know the Polar Plunge is this Sunday? If you have never heard of the Polar Plunge, it is an event to raise money for NYS Special Olympics which many of our students support through Unified Sports. Our students need your help. Please consider sponsoring a student to plunge or donate to the team. An alternative way to donate is to bring change/cash (any amount helps) to The Commons during any of the lunch periods. We have three containers. Whomever has the most money in their box by the end of the day today, must plunge into icy Lake Ontario! We need to average at least $100 to allow each student to plunge. Lastly if you are interested in Plunging it is not too late to join. You can join the ICY EAGLES who have quoted this year to be "FLY LIKE AN EAGLE...PLUNGE LIKE A PENGUIN" Yes, many of our students will be dressing like penguins for this.

October may be scary, but what's scarier is the number of shelters across America that list socks as their #1 most needed, but least donated, item. Therefore, Student Council will be collecting new socks for the entire month of October to be given to shelters in the Rochester area in time for winter. Sock donations may be dropped off in boxes outside the Counseling Center and in the Commons. To show your support, students and staff are encouraged to wear fun socks every Friday to promote SOCKTOBER!
Sophomores: You have the opportunity to fundraise for your class and earn prizes for yourself at the same time! With our no-frills fundraiser, you'll be able to ask family members and friends to contribute small amounts that will go entirely, directly, 100% to our class! Your English teachers will be handing out a donation collection sheet with more information. All donations are due to Mrs. Parent by October 11th to be entered into drawings to win Eagles gear or, for our grand prize biggest collector, a free ticket to Junior Prom.
